At Citrix Summit in January 2016, I heard from many of you asking for an updated version of the Citrix VDI Handbook.
At Citrix Synergy in May 2016, I heard from many of you asking for an updated version of the Citrix VDI Handbook.
At BriForum in July 2016, I heard from many of you asking for an updated version of the Citrix VDI Handbook.
To me, it sounds like you want the Citrix VDI Handbook to be updated.
The good news. It is being updated!!!
The better news. We got our Citrix consulting experts to validate the recommendations
The bad news. It isn’t ready yet.
So why am I telling you this?
First, you can stop hounding me about getting it updated. It is happening. I am currently buried in Microsoft Word.
Second, I need to know if there are things missing that you think should be included.
And third, does this news make you happy?
Very happy – and glad we’re aligned and will be helping you with this. I’ve also received no less than 20 questions/complaints about this over the last year or so. 😉

Great news, glad the update is coming soon. What I’m missing in the handbook is recommendations for All of the supported Hypervisors . Thanks.

Dan, this is great news. The existing guide is a great resource but as you and others have noted, needs updating. A lot has changed since that issue. In answer to your questions.
1. Yes, I won’t ask you about the next XDHB version again. Mild apologies for being a contributor to the pestering 🙂
2. I’m sure there will be some details on public cloud provisioning which didn’t really apply in the last handbook. Personally, I’d like to see some definitive guidance on PVS vDisk, template and target creation. I’ve been having a real task lately with an issue around that and investigation has proved there is a lot of confusion in this area.
3. Yes, this news makes me very happy. Thank you!

Will it take into account that not all of us have a Platinum license, so we can not use XenServer in-memory read caching?
